Three decades after the events, the very violent murder of two sisters who owned a bar in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques city has still not been elucidated. The report of a private detective, however, opens a new hypothesis based on real estate transactions. Our revelations.
It is August 28, 1995, in Pau. “That day, they called me to tell me that the bar was closed and that it was not normal. I moved and it was I who discovered my aunts with their throats cut” remembers Claudine Albira, on the verge of tears. The crime scene, which takes place in this brasserie “Chez Maurice” at the exit of the Pyrenean town, is « atrocious »she continues. Marcelle and Claudine Nougué-Cazenave had their throats cut. “I saw my aunt Marcelle face down on the ground with blood everywhere. When I looked up, I found my other aunt with her foot stuck in the rungs of the stairs. There was blood on the walls, on the floor, on the ceiling, they were both lying in a pool of blood. »
From the start, the investigators noted the proximity of the bar to the Pau psychiatric hospital and dug into the trail of a crime committed by a patient. But four years later, in 1999, the investigating magistrate in charge of the case issued an order dismissing the case. On December 17, 2004, another sordid double crime revived the case: a nurse and a caregiver were found with their throats slit at the Pau psychiatric hospital center. The investigators then imagine that one and the same culprit could be behind the two enigmas. But the following month, Romain Dupuy, a former resident of the establishment, was arrested after being confused by his DNA for this double murder.
