Ligue 1: Bollaert’s ovation for Franck Haise, the only great moment of Lens-Nice (0-0)

In a meeting between two contenders for Europe during this 6th Day of Ligue 1, the real event was the return of coach, Franck Haise, to his old lair of Bollaert. On the field, the two teams neutralized each other.

As soon as his name was announced by the RC announcer, Sylvano, the stadium cheered him. A fiery atmosphere like Bollaert offers every match night, but there, it was for a veteran of the house.

The man who managed to take RC Lens to the top of the championship and into the Champions League last season received a standing ovation for his seven seasons at the club, including four as head coach.

From mid-table to the Champions League

7th in Ligue 1 for his first season on the bench of the Lensoise A team in 2020-2021, Franck Haise left his mark. The following season, he was promoted to general manager following the departure of Florent Ghisolfi. Then, in 2022-2023, he led the Sang et Or to the Champions League.

No longer in agreement with the new bosses of RC Lens, the coach decided to leave at the end of last season and join the Côte d’Azur during the summer, calmly.

The French technician therefore leaves Lens this Saturday evening with the point of the draw (0-0). Deprived of many executives, it was his goalkeeper who allowed his team to maintain the result. Marcin Bulka was decisive in front of Nzola (10th), Saïd (12th), Thomasson (52nd) and Labeau (70th) at close range. Opposite Samba also preserved the score.

Franck Haise returned to Lens with a smile, he leaves with honors, acclaimed by an entire stadium which readily recognizes everything he has brought.
