In the standings, Leipzig remains fourth (62 points) followed by Dortmund (57 pts). Augsburg stagnates in eighth place (39 pts). Bremen is in tenth place (37 pts) with Wolfsburg two places behind (34 pts).

Borussia opened the scoring thanks to Jadon Sancho (20th, 0-1) but Leipzig quickly returned to the game with an equalizer from Loïs Openda (23rd, 1-1). Benjamin Sesko (45th+2, 2-1) put RasenBallsport in control. Mohamed Simakan, on an assist from Openda, released at the end of the match, (46th, 3-1) and Christoph Baumgartner (80th, 4-1) recorded the victory for Leipzig.
