On May 18, the National Forest Park is organizing a day dedicated to nature as part of the Municipal Biodiversity Atlas (ABC).

“Let’s celebrate nature” takes place in Colmier-le-Haut. Young and old will be able to discover biodiversity through different activities.

To accompany this day, stands, food trucks and refreshments are set up.

Activities on flora

Through a walk along a watercourse, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., visitors will be able to observe the effects of drought and human activities on the rivers that punctuate the landscapes.

In addition, the most curious will be able to discover what the hedges that border agricultural fields are used for, in a workshop from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. From 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., there is an observation activity of small village plants to learn to recognize them during a fun walk. Finally, an outing in the forest from 3:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. is proposed to learn more about the microhabitat of trees and to investigate the inhabitants hiding under their bark… Surprise!

But also about wildlife

Also come and discover the mysteries of the owl, a nocturnal animal often unknown to the public, from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., through a conference held by the bird protection league. Lovers of small animals will be delighted to learn more about the particularities of each pollinator, from 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. during a conference organized by the Conservatory of Natural Spaces.

Finally, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., another conference will be held on reptiles to learn more about these very special animals.
