In the dynamic and demanding framework of the Top 14, the Rugby Club de (RCV) does not hide its ambitions for growth.

The club, recently promoted to the elite of French rugby, is showing a firm desire to maintain its place in the championship and is seriously considering expanding its current stadium, La Rabine.

The need for a more spacious enclosure

According to Olivier Cloarecpresident of RCV, the current capacity of the stadium no longer meets the requirements of a Top 14 club.

In an interview with Le Télégramme, he clearly indicated that for ” exist “ In this championship, the club should have a stadium capable of hosting 15,000 spectators.

“We need 15,000 seats tomorrow to exist in this championship… But I am certain that if we had had a stadium with 15,000 or 17,000 seats, we would have played to sold-out crowds every match.”

La Rabine, a stadium with untapped potential

The president dismissed the idea of relocations, preferring to optimize the potential of La Rabine. With a current capacity bordering on 12,000 places of which 9,000 are already reserved by subscribers, the stadium is too small.

The solution? The expansion of the Lucien Jaffré stand could provide 3,000 additional places.

Additionally, filling the corners of the stadium to close it on its sides could be another viable option.

A locally supported and financed project

The financing of this expansion work already seems to be well underway since the City of Vannes is financing a large part of it, and local authorities such as the Department or the Region are also contributing.

Olivier Cloarec expresses the importance of proving that the club can ” to go and get 1,000 more places and fill them” .

Optimistic timing

The RCV president hopes to see the expansion project come to fruition quickly, ideally in the coming year. A bold ambition that demonstrates the club’s confidence and desire to establish itself permanently in the French rugby landscape.

A long-term vision

The challenge is significant but necessary. The RCV seeks to increase its visibility and revenues, but above all to offer supporters and players a framework that lives up to their expectations and passions.

This expansion project is therefore an essential pivot in the club’s long-term development strategy. In conclusion, Vannes is showing its claws and demonstrating its intention not to be a mere passenger in the elite of French rugby.

The La Rabine stadium and its 15,000 The planned places are intended to become a symbol of the growth and ambition of the Rugby Club of Vannes.
