The almost 20,000 lines connected to the Orange telephone exchange located in Chesnay-Rocquencourt (Yvelines) will they soon become operational again after the fire that occurred this morning?
At the end of the day of Friday April 26, 2024, it is impossible for the operator to give a delay as for a return to normal.
The situation has even gotten worse. If the Internet network was already cut off this morning, it is now telephony (4G) which is impacted.
“This morning, landlines and the Internet were impacted. Since then, the mobile network has also fallen. »
Clearly, the backup batteries that powered the mobile network no longer work.
The municipalities of Chesnay-Rocquencourt, Versailles and Noisy-le-Roi are thus impacted by this giant breakdown.
As for announcing a date for a return to normal, it is impossible for the operator at this stage. “Mine spoke to me about at least eight days this morning on the phone. I’m going to try to operate with a key…” says a customer who went to her operator urgently.
It is not yet possible to intervene
” We are waiting the green light from the firefighters to enter the basements, but for the moment, it is impossible, indicates the crisis unit. We have technicians on site, ready to respond as soon as we can enter the premises. »
The crisis unit will remain mobilized throughout weekend to try to remedy the situation as quickly as possible. But this will definitely take time.
