After having studied across the Atlantic, Max is preparing his arrival in France. Announced several weeks ago, the launch of the American platform is now set for June 11. Through a press release, Warner Bros details the contours of its offer which intends to shake up the French audiovisual panorama. Price, catalog and availability Max has (almost) no more secrets for its future users. As expected, Max wants to take advantage of the release of House of the Dragon season 2 and the holding of the Paris Olympic Games to become part of the consumption habits of French spectators. Sport, series and films, the platform formerly called HBO Max is not lacking in interest.

Three formulas for more freedom

With a rich catalog of several hundred emblematic series, and a gallery of films produced by Warner Bros, Max does not invest in our green lands without solid arguments in its favor. Now that the partnership with OCS is over, the firm can count on all the licenses that made Orange’s service successful in the 2010s. Such a catalog could have motivated the creation of fairly expensive formulas, after all the Pass Warner was accessible for 9.99 euros per month, in addition to the 6.99 euros necessary for Prime Video. Finally, it is with a price range below those charged by Netflix that Max arrives in France. How to benefit from it?

Of the next June 11French series fans to take out a subscription directly via the dedicated site. For its launch, however, the platform is not only relying on its own services and has established partnerships with several telecom and audiovisual players in France. Max will be available from its launch via Canal+, Prime Video, Orange, Free and SFR. In the first case, it is via the Ciné-Séries, Friends & Family or even Rat+ offers that subscription can be done at no additional cost. Thus, by choosing the option, Canal+ subscribers will be able to benefit from a common invoice for all memberships. On Prime, like the Warner Pass, it will be a matter of subscribing via a dedicated channel, an additional option. Prime Video specifies that current Warner Pass subscribers will automatically be switched to the Max intermediate plan. Finally, the three operators will offer access via their TV boxes and therefore billing by themselves.

What content?

The main charming asset of Max is undoubtedly the imposing catalog which is looming. Like the Warner Pass on Prime Video, this new platform will be able to count on emblematic stamps of the small screen. HBO’s creative force should attract many attentions, and justify subscription among fans of demanding series. Among the titles offered at launch, we can cite Game Of Thrones, The Last of UsSuccession or even The White Lotus And True Detective. But to these legends of the little window will be added as new products come along, starting with the series The Penguin or Welcome to Derry. The saga Dune is also promised a spin-off evolving around the Bene Gesserit. Baptized The Prophecyit should take over our screens in 2024 at the earliest.

Several French creations will also be added to the list of series to catch up on, several of which have been announced in recent weeks. Unlike the Warner Pass, Max will focus much more on film productions from the Warner Bros. catalog. This obviously includes the saga Harry Potter, the DC universe, but more broadly all the licenses that evolve under the Warner banner.
