The list of devices compatible with the Qi2 standard, which allows induction charging with a power of 15 W, is growing. The latest brand is Amegat, which offers a charging pad for €20 (€17 with the code 15FLCQ1010) and a Qi2 charging station for €100 (€75 with the code 25FLCQ3110). As Damien — a reader who contacted us — indicates, the two products are visibly identical to Aukey’s Qi2 chargers.

The station Aukey Amegat.

And this visual proximity is not trivial: Aukey is a company that was banned from Amazon a few years ago and Amegat seems to be a fake nose (or Aukey with a mustache, if you want) to help sell the Aukey products on Amazon.

Aukey products have all disappeared from Amazon

The information remains patchy, but if you look at the Aukey 3-in-1 charging station certification page and that of Amegat, you will see completely identical products. Likewise, manuals for some Amegat products, such as an external battery, cite Aukey directly. Or, in the same vein, one of the contacts for the FCC validation of the Amegat station has an email address with Aukey. And other FCC validations of Amega products indicate (like here) that this is simply a remark of an Aukey product. We cannot be certain, but there are many indications that Amegat (and Shenzhen Autral Technology Innovation Co., Ltd.) is directly dependent on Aukey in one way or another.

Belkin slightly expands its line of Qi2 charging support for iPhone and Apple Watch

Finally, to return to the Qi2 charging station, it seems quite complete: it offers a magnetic slot for a MagSafe compatible iPhone (from iPhone 12), a charger for Apple Watch and a slot for an AirPods case, if you have purchased a Qi compatible model (this is not systematic). At €100 (and even more with the code), it is obviously financially interesting compared to other models on the market.
