A new series of explosions of communications equipment took place in Lebanon on Wednesday, September 18. At least nine people died, and 300 others were injured, according to a provisional report released shortly before 6 p.m. by the Lebanese Ministry of Health.

The explosions took place in particular in the southern suburbs of Beirut, in the Bekaa Valley, in the district of Saida (Sidon) and in the region of Baalbek, in the east of the country.

In the wake of an attack attributed to Israel, which caused thousands of pagers to explode across the country, walkie-talkies belonging to members of Hezbollah were particularly affected this time, according to several sources close to the Lebanese Shiite movement and security sources to news agencies.
