[Travaux à Lille] Foch Square is closed for a makeover – 09/18/2024

city hall has started renovation work on two squares in the centre of Lille: Foch and Dutilleul. The first is already closed to pedestrians until December and the second will follow from January.

If you used to hang out at Square Foch, you will have to move to its neighbor Dutilleul. Because the latter is closed to pedestrians. until December 2024. And from January to May 2025, it will be the opposite.

The town hall is launching renovation work in the two squares for four reasons:

  • Restore pedestrian paths
  • renovate street furniture
  • restore degraded masonry
  • to strenghten “the place of plants, by adapting these sites to climate change, thus ensuring the preservation of biodiversity in the city”

Dutilleul Square remains open until January.

Traffic and parking around the squares

If you can no longer walk in the Foch square, it is however possible to pass and park around with your car (same for Dutilleul). And for residents, rest assured, waste collection will not be impacted either.
