A fire broke out on the roof of a building in the 13th arrondissement of on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. At least two explosions rang out, without causing any serious casualties.

Impressive images. According to BFMTV and Le Parisien, a fire broke out on Avenue de la Porte d’Ivry, in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, around 5 p.m. in a six-story building. Two gas bottles then exploded due to the flames.

Images posted on social media show a huge plume of smoke. According to Jérôme Coumet, mayor of the district, “the central problem was the presence of gas cylinders needed for the work. Two exploded, one during the firefighters’ intervention.”

On X (Twitter), he specifies that a firefighter and a worker were “slightly” injured. He continues: “one of the bottles was thrown outwards and it was necessary to establish a large security perimeter. The tramway had to be interrupted and access to the Porte d’Ivry station closed.”

An investigation has been opened to determine the exact circumstances of the fire, but above all to find out whether it was accidental or criminal.
