Germany will be present at the quarter-finals of “its” Euro.

The Mannschaft dominated Denmark 2-0 on Saturday evening in Dortmund, in a round of 16 which was interrupted for 25 minutes by a violent storm which occurred before half-time.

Julian Nagelsmann’s selection, which will face Spain or Georgia next Friday in Stuttgart for a place in the last four, broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute with a penalty converted by Kai Havertz. Penalty awarded after a VAR intervention, following a handball by Joachim Andersen.

A Joachim Andersen who went through all the moods in the space of five minutes on Saturday evening in the den of the BVB. The Crystal Palace defender thought he had opened the scoring in the 48th minute, but his success was canceled by the VAR for an offside by the decisive passer.

Germany, which for its part saw a Schlotterbeck goal canceled in the 4th, “killed” the match in the 68th. His playing master Jamal Musiala scored his third goal of the tournament with an unstoppable strike, two minutes after Manuel Neuer had signed a decisive save on a shot from the lively Danish striker Rasmus Höjlund.

Exiting in the round of 16 of the last Euro and in the group stage of the last two World Cups, Germany can therefore still hope to relive the “Sommermärchen” of 2006, when Jürgen Klinsmann’s selection reached the final of “his” Cup of the world. But he will undoubtedly have to further raise his level of play, especially in the event of a clash with La Roja in the quarter.
