Goalkeeper Loris Karius has married Italian presenter Diletta Leotta. There was a celebration on a small island off Sicily with several prominent guests.
This love moves Michelle Hunziker to tears. When the German soccer goalkeeper Loris Karius and the Italian sports presenter Diletta Leotta said “I do” on June 22nd on the Italian dream island of Vulcano, she cried throughout the entire ceremony.
She and her daughter Aurora made this public on Instagram. In an Instagram story, they shared the tearful video and wrote, loosely translated from Italian: “She cried from the first to the last second.”
Hunziker was not the only famous face among the 150 or so guests. Together with her daughter, she shared a shuttle with 37-year-old fashion influencer Chiara Ferragni. Model Elisabetta Canalis also did not miss the Italian celebrity wedding weekend. And the maid of honor, singer Elodie, may also be known to some fans. The bride Diletta Leotta and Elodie are said to have been friends for a very long time.
The bride and groom, who already have a daughter, got married outdoors in front of a dream backdrop. The bride posted a few pictures on her Instagram page, including her long veil with the inscription “All I Ever Wanted” and the intimate wedding kiss. The groom wore a white jacket with dark trousers.
The bride and groom chose a special date for their wedding vows: June 22 is also Loris Karius’ birthday. The footballer played in the Bundesliga for 1. FC Union Berlin in 2020 and 2021, and previously played for Liverpool FC and Mainz 05. He has been under contract with Newcastle United since September 2022.
Karius also made headlines for his relationship with presenter Sophia Thomalla, with whom he was together from January 2018 to June 2021. Since October 2022, he has been in a relationship with television presenter Diletta Leotta. Things moved quickly for the couple: they only made their relationship public in early 2023, and in March they announced their pregnancy. Daughter Aria was born on Leotta’s birthday, August 16.
Karius’ contract with Newcastle United expires at the end of June. He would then like to move to an Italian club to be closer to his small family. Where exactly he will go is still unclear, however. First of all, the honeymoon is probably on the cards anyway.
