The favorites of the 2024/2025 biathlon season

But the German biathletes are not the top favorites this season. The years in which Germany was at the forefront of the world are over. Laura Dahlmeier, Magdalena Neuner, Simon Schempp, Michi Greis and Co. are all no longer there.

Among the men, the position of the favorites is clear: the Norwegian high-flyer Johannes Thingnes Bö is the clear favorite. His biggest competitors come from his own country with Sturla Holm Laegreid, Tarjei Bö and Vetle Sjastad Christiansen. The Swedes Martin Ponsiluoma and Sebastian Samuelsson, as well as the French Emilen Jacquelin and Quentin Fillon Maillet should also be at the forefront.

Things are a little more balanced for women. Elvira Öberg (Sweden), sister Hanna Öberg, Lisa Vittozzi (Italy), Justine Braisaz-Bouchet () and the Norwegian Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold are a must-see.
