Swearing-in, Village People, Musk… Photos of the ceremony

Since Monday noon, the United States officially has a new president. Donald Trump was indeed sworn in before Joe Biden, thus marking his great return to the head of the country. During his inauguration, he promised a “golden age” for America, unveiling an agenda focused on economic, cultural and security priorities.

Many political figures congratulated the new president, such as Vladimir Putin, Volodymyr Zelinsky, Benjamin Netanyahu, Giorgia Meloni and Viktor Orbán. Others, like the Canadian and Mexican leaders, also congratulated Donald Trump while calling for dialogue. In Washington, the transfer of power was orchestrated in the purest tradition – but in the Capitol due to the low temperatures outside – in the presence of Joe Biden. Four years ago the latter had to do without Donald Trump who refused to recognize his defeat. 20 Minutes returns for you in images on this particularly important day for American politics but also for the entire planet.
