Urban guerrilla in Mâcon, we must terrorize the traffickers!
The city of Mâcon was prey to high-intensity urban violence during the night from Saturday to Sunday January 19, 2025, leading to damage to public buildings. This violence, against a backdrop of drug trafficking, took place in the sensitive Saugeraies district and one person was arrested. An initial assessment reveals three public buildings damaged as well as three police vehicles damaged. In addition, seven light vehicles were set on fire, an excavator and trash cans were burned.
The National Rally, through its departmental delegate and deputy Aurélien Dutremble, recalls that these acts are intolerable: “the Saugerais district is a district known as a hub for drug trafficking. Here, it is the drug dealers who make the law and take honest residents hostage.
In 2023 already a school and a gymnasium had been burned. Today, the scum are probably fighting after the recent intervention of the police. We must not give up and wage war on the traffickers who are present and dictating their law. Now is the time to react after several decades of laxity. The Minister of the Interior has indicated that he is sending police reinforcements, this is a minimum.
I reiterate my support for the mobilized police forces and firefighters. It is now up to the justice system to exercise appropriate criminal repression to deter any repeat offenses without delay. Impunity and the trivialization of trafficking must end. The laws of the Republic must apply in the prefecture town of Saône-et-Loire as everywhere in France.
