The first indications of a potential return of American President Donald Trump to the White House, during whose mandate the United States officially recognized Moroccan sovereignty over the southern provinces, have just materialized. Indeed, the CIA (United States Central Intelligence Agency) has updated the information on its official website, publishing a complete map of the Kingdom of Morocco, thus confirming the positions already expressed by the American administration.

This development comes as observers anticipate that the return of Donald Trump could bring more gains to Morocco in its defense of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom. Crucial developments are expected in this matter over the coming years.

The official CIA website describes the complete map of Morocco as “a map showing the main centers of population distribution, as well as parts of neighboring countries and the northern Atlantic Ocean.”

The same source recalls that in 2020, the United States recognized the Moroccan Sahara as an integral part of the national territory of the Kingdom.

The fact sheet dedicated to Morocco on the CIA website contains various key information, in particular on the geographical position of the country, its history, the bases of its economy, its political system, its demography, its cultural diversity, as well as its official leaders.

The whole world awaits the official inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump, scheduled for Monday, January 20, 2025. On that day, he will officially take office, succeeding outgoing President Joe Biden.

Recall that the American recognition of Moroccan sovereignty over the Sahara was announced following the signing of a tripartite agreement between the United States, Morocco and Israel in 2020. This agreement reaffirmed the support of the United States for the proposal Moroccan autonomy, described as serious, realistic and credible, as being the only basis for a just and lasting solution to the conflict.

Although the Biden administration has not developed new positions on the Sahara issue, it has maintained those previously adopted. Thus, the Official Bulletin of the American Department of State had already published a world map including the southern Moroccan provinces within their integral borders, reaffirming the unshakeable position of the United States concerning the Moroccan Sahara.

In this regard, the spokesperson for the US State Department clarified that this map, prepared by the Bureau of Geographic and Global Affairs, is known as the “Foreign Service Functions” map, according to the official State magazine. Magazine.

This map shows the international borders officially recognized by the United States, as well as the State Department’s official presence around the world and the organizational structure of its regional offices. It is used at the United States Headquarters and in administrative offices of the Department of State.

The publication of this map by the American Department of State confirms that the United States continues to recognize the decision taken by the Trump administration, which officially proclaimed Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara.
