Pope Francis injured his right forearm in a fall Thursday morning in his residence, but did not suffer any fractures, the Vatican announced.

“This morning, following a fall in the Sainte-Marthe residence, Pope Francis suffered a contusion to his right forearm, without fracture. The arm was immobilized as a precaution,” indicates a press release.

François celebrated his 88th birthday last December.
