What is “The Dead from Lake Constance – The Medusa” about?

Luisa Hoffmann and Micha Oberländer actually wanted to work off overtime when they were called to the shore of Lake Constance. The body of a young woman was washed up there – Vera Grimm. Coincidentally, forensic pathologist Egger had seen her that morning with a little boy.

Hoffmann and Oberländer inform Vera’s sister Ronja and her husband Andy about the tragic death. The investigators noticed the unusual behavior of Ronja’s son Jannick. A routine family check reveals Andy’s criminal record: years ago he was convicted of burglary.

The case takes a dramatic turn when the investigators find out that the Löfflers’ younger son, Augustin, was kidnapped by Andy’s former accomplice Dominik Haas. Haas has escaped from prison and wants to force Andy Löffler to hand over Medusa, a million-dollar fine gold bust. But Andy swears that the bust has been lying at the bottom of Lake Constance for years.

The situation becomes even more complicated when Hoffmann’s ex-partner Antonio Zübert comes into play. He was Haas’ cellmate and only wants to reveal information about the kidnapper if Hoffmann allows him to meet their daughter Liv.

Hoffmann is faced with a difficult decision: Should she subject her daughter to a traumatic encounter with her manipulative father? Or will she risk the kidnapped boy’s life if she refuses Zübert’s conditions? Meanwhile, Oberländer and Komlatschek are feverishly trying to find other clues in order to get by without Zübert’s help.
