The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced that its fighters today, Monday, attacked an Israeli force of 25 soldiers in the Shaboura camp in the center of the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, killing and wounding all of its members.
The Brigades said – in a post on its account on the Telegram application – that its fighters attacked this Israeli force while it was holed up in a building in the Najili area in the Shaboura camp.
She added that the fighters detonated a minefield in two Israeli troop carriers when a force arrived to rescue the soldiers holed up in the building.
The Al-Qassam Brigades explained that the clash is still continuing and fires are burning in the targeted building until the early hours of this evening.
The Qassam operation in Rafah came as the pace of resistance operations in the northern Gaza Strip escalated.
At least 55 Israeli army soldiers have been killed since the start of its military operation in northern Gaza on October 5, according to official Israeli data.
Earlier today, Israeli media sources reported that 5 soldiers were killed and 11 others were wounded in an anti-tank missile attack in the northern Gaza Strip.
For his part, Abu Ubaida, the official spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, confirmed today that the losses of the occupation forces in the northern Gaza Strip are much greater than what is announced.
