In the first game after the winter break, VfL Wolfsburg will play against TSG Hoffenheim. The VfL coach has to do without Lukas Nmecha.
The winter break in the Bundesliga is over. The ball has been rolling again since yesterday, Friday. VfL Wolfsburg has to play in Hoffenheim this Saturday (kick-off 3:30 p.m.). VfL spent a week during the winter break in sunny Portugal and held a training camp there. This was finished at the end of the week. The Wolves didn’t even return to Wolfsburg after the training camp, but instead stayed in the south of Germany so that they could travel directly to Hoffenheim for the away game.
The mission now begins for coach Ralph Hasenhüttl: European competition. The Wolves are currently in 11th place in the table. The aim is to achieve international competition. To do this, VfL has to produce a better number of points in the second half of the year than in the first half. VfL currently has 21 points in their account.
Lineup
Coach Ralph Hasenhüttl hardly changes his starting eleven from the last games. This time, Yannick Gerhardt will be preferred in midfield over Dardai, who was often in the starting line-up in the first half of the season. Lukas Nmecha is not in the squad in attack. Jonas Wind, who had to fight for a long time to be a starter in the first half of the year, is there from the start this time.
