Jacques Audiard's film, “Emilia Pérez”, already awarded at with the Jury Prize and the Best Actress Prize, and at the European Film Awards, was one of the big winners of the 2025 Golden Globes ceremony, this January 5. In addition to the award for best comedy, this musical odyssey about the gender transition of a Mexican drug trafficker won the prize for best international film, that of best supporting actress for Zoe Saldaña, and that of best song for French artists Camille and Clément Ducol, who composed the original soundtrack. It had ten nominations.

  • 2 The Baftas on February 16

    Another big moment of the cinema awards season, the Bafta ceremony (British Academy of Film and Television Arts, Editor's note), the British equivalent of the French Césars or the American Oscars. On January 3, the list of pre-nominees was revealed, and “Emilia Pérez” appears fifteen times. While waiting for the final list of nominations, revealed on January 15, then the ceremony, on February 16.

The Sags will take place after the Baftas, on February 23. The nominations will be announced this Wednesday, January 8, but Variety is already counting on several mentions for Audiard's film.

    It’s the meeting place for French cinema. The 50th Césars ceremony will take place on February 28. And to say that Jacques Audiard is a regular is an understatement: the French director has already won ten Césars in his name, whether for best film, best screenplay, best adaptation or best director. As for all of his films, they have accumulated 31 awards: three for “Watch Men Fall”, three for “On My Lips”, eight for “The Beat My Heart Has Stopped”, nine for “A Prophet” , four for “De rouilles et d’os” and four for “Les Frères Sisters”. Nominations will be known on January 29.
