The match: Spurs and Wemby collapse in Chicago

How could this match have escaped them? The Spurs, in the lead until 47 seconds from the end, will wonder for a while. They, who had a lead of up to 19 points in the third quarter and another 15 at the start of the fourth, nevertheless fell on the Chicago floor last night (114-110). Victor Wembanyama's big slump, unable to score in the last quarter, obviously has something to do with it.

15 seconds from time, the Frenchman even had the equalizing ball in his hands without converting it. A sluggish ending which does not do justice to a once again very dense performance from Wembanyama since the Frenchman compiled 23 points (at 9/22), 14 rebounds, 4 assists and… 8 blocks. He was everywhere but his aggression evaporated at the end of the match and only Chris Paul fueled the score on the Texan side.

Opposite, Zach Lavine (35 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists) came close to a triple-double and converted his last free throw of the match to seal the victory for the Bulls. The Bulls therefore recovered from a 19-point deficit and only led in the last minute of the match thanks to Coby White (23 points) who played against Wembanyama's defense on two consecutive actions, including a poster dunk . San Antonio (18 wins – 18 losses) falls to 10th place in the West before a trip to Milwaukee on Wednesday.

The player: Antetekumpo sees triple

Giannis Antetokounmpo validated his fourth triple-double of the season (11 points, 12 rebounds, 13 assists), the 49th of his career, for a success from Milwaukee to Toronto (128-104) which consolidates its 5th place in the East (18-16).
