Since January 1, the metro-train-RER ticket costs the single price of 2.50 euros in Île-de-France. A new price list which is excellent news for Valérie Pécresse.
Valérie Pécresse continues to defend her project. Guest of Franceinfo Monday January 6, the president of Île-de-France Mobilités returned to the new single rates implemented in public transport in the Ile-de-France region since January 1.
“It’s a revolution. It’s the ticketing revolution,” assures Valérie Pécresse at the microphone of our colleagues.
“This is based on a vision of a region without borders, a region in which the inhabitants all have the same dignity, whether they live in the working-class district of Drigny or the rural territory of Provins. Same dignity, same rights, same freedom to move around,” she adds.
“Make visitors and tourists pay more”
Since the start of the year, a new price scale has been put in place, eliminating the zone system. The metro-train-RER ticket costs a single price of 2,50 euroswhatever the line taken, the departure and arrival station of the traveler. This rate is also applied on tram lines T11, T12 and T13.
For other lines, a bus-tram ticket will be available at the price of 2 eurosalso valid on all lines (except the Orlybus and the Roissybus, which maintain special rates).
For the president of Île-de-France Mobilité, these new rates will mainly concern occasional travelers. “My obsession is to make visitors and tourists who only take the metro in Paris pay more. It is for them that it will increase,” assures Valérie Pécresse.
“The reform is generally balanced but it will affect visitors and tourists much more than Ile-de-France residents,” she continues.
For Ile-de-France residents, in addition to the Navigo pass, Valérie Pécresse praises the merits of the standardization of the Liberté+ service on Navigo. This will now be able to operate across the entire Ile-de-France network, allowing users to benefit from a 20% reduction per journey.
The price of a trip will thus amount to 1.99 euros for a metro-RER ticket, and 1.60 euros for a bus-tram ticket, payment for which is taken the month following the month in which the trip was made. .
