A 56-year-old man, kidnapped Tuesday in Ain as part of a ransom demand, was found tied up in the trunk of a car near Le Mans, the Bourg-en-Bresse prosecutor's office said on Friday. The ransom demand was addressed to his son “to social success known to the general public”prosecutor Karine Malara said in a press release without giving further details. According to several media outlets, he is a cryptocurrency influencer based in Dubai, who regularly posts videos about his earnings.
His parents were kidnapped and tied up Tuesday afternoon at their home in Saint-Genis-Pouilly in Ain, “by several armed individuals, hiding their faces”according to the magistrate’s account.
