The Public Prosecutor's Office of Lamezia Terme has opened an investigation to ascertain possible responsibility in the workplace accident in which a 38-year-old worker, Francesco Stella, died after falling from scaffolding in the Europrofil factory, a company producing products for the construction, in the industrial area of ​​San Pietro Lametino The deputy prosecutor on duty, Giuseppe Falcone, is currently in charge of the investigation file, in coordination with the prosecutor, Salvatore Curcio. The magistrate ordered the seizure of the area pertaining to the accident and the autopsy on the victim's body, which will be carried out by the Forensic Medicine doctors of the “Dulbecco” university hospital in Catanzaro. Once the urgent actions have been completed, the investigation will then pass to the sector of the Prosecutor's Office which deals with accidents at work.

The investigations into the accident were delegated to the Lamezia Police Station of the State Police and to the staff of Spisal, the prevention, hygiene and safety service in the workplace of the Catanzaro Provincial Health Authority. According to what emerged from the initial investigations, Stella died due to the trauma sustained in the collision with the ground and falling from the scaffolding.

The aim of the investigation opened by the Prosecutor's Office is to verify whether all accident prevention measures had been put in place on the construction site where the worker who died worked.
