Arezzo, 3 January 2025 – This year too the Forestry Carabinieri will be at the forefront in organizing the “Epiphany of Biodiversity”, a special day of environmental education and solidarity. More than 100 Carabinieri will be present in the pediatric departments of 44 hospital facilities and family homes throughout Italy, bringing with them a symbol of nature and hope aimed at hospitalized children and healthcare personnel working in the wards during the Epiphany and in the days preceding January 6, meeting over 1200 children.
In Arezzo the Carabinieri Biodiversity Department of Pieve Santo Stefano organizes the day with the Casa Thevenin Institute for the children of the families hosted in the host community and the Italian Sports Center for the children of the winter solar camps. Gadgets such as notebooks, pencils, hats, colours, canvas backpacks or playing cards will be delivered to alleviate the pain of the little guests and images and sensations regarding the knowledge of biodiversity will be shared, to allow not only virtual contact with nature, which is expected also the transplanting of small plants of forest species from the Pieve nursery
Boxing Day: immersing your hands in the earth and picking up the plants will allow you to directly “touch” nature through an uncommon experience for today's children. The aim is to convey knowledge and love for Nature to children by telling them about the world
extraordinary of the 150 State Natural Reserves and State Forests managed by
Carabinieri Grouping Biodiversity: exceptional habitats where animal species survive and
plants of rare beauty.
We therefore await this Epiphany in the name of love for the environment and solidarity.
