The Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region recorded the creation of 11,328 new companies during the first ten months of 2024, making it the second largest region in terms of the number of companies established nationally.
The Moroccan Office for Industrial and Commercial Property stated, in the general dashboard of the business creation barometer, that the total number of businesses created in Morocco amounted to 78,244 businesses in the same period, distributed between legal persons (56,292 businesses) and private individuals (21,952 businesses).
The sectoral distribution of the updated contracting revealed that the commercial sector accounted for 34.73% of the total contracting, followed by the construction, public works and real estate activities sectors at 19.36%, and miscellaneous services at 18.47%.
Other sectors also included transportation (8.07%), industries (7.3%), hotels and restaurants (5.63%), information and communications technology (2.79%), financial activities (1.99%), and agriculture and fishing (1.67%).
The Casablanca-Settat region topped the national ranking with the creation of 24,571 new companies, followed by the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, then the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region with 9,121 companies, while the Marrakesh-Safi region ranked fourth with 8,875 companies, followed by the Fez-Meknes region with 5,409 companies.
According to the legal form, limited liability companies with a single partner ranked first with a share of 64.9% of the total established companies, followed by multi-partner limited liability companies with a share of 34.5%. While anonymous companies represented 0.3%, and branches represented 0.1%.
