Neuhausen am Rheinfall: Fire devastates underground car park – four cars are scrapped

A fire devastated an underground car park in the center of Neuhausen am Rheinfall on Wednesday evening, January 1st, completely destroying four cars, reports the Schaffhausen police. 30 residents had to be evacuated as a precaution. There is still no information about the cause of the fire or the amount of damage. The investigation is ongoing.

The emergency call comes in shortly after 9 p.m

Shortly after 9 p.m., the police received a report: a car in an underground car park was on fire. By the time the emergency services arrived, three other vehicles were already ablaze. The Neuhausen-Oberklettgau and Schaffhausen fire departments extinguished the fire and prevented the flames from spreading to neighboring residential buildings. Nobody was injured.

The Schaffhausen police are investigating

Of the four cars, only the wrecks remained. The Schaffhausen police are investigating the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage.
