For this January 1, 2025, intermittent disturbances are expected in the northern half of the country as well as strong gusts of wind on the coasts of -Pas-de-, according to the Météo agency. Snowfall is expected in the North-East on Thursday January 2.

If the year 2024 was one of the rainiest for but also for Limousin, where it had not rained so much for 30 years, the start of 2025 looks set to be quite similar for the moment. Indeed, according to the latest Météo France bulletin, the northern half of the country, from to the Benelux via Île-de-France, is waking up under a large coat of gray clouds. Furthermore, the first days of 2025 will be marked by a few showers and a sharp drop in temperatures.

Gusts of wind and gray coat

In the north, strong gusts of wind are expected. “Southwest gusts reach 50 to 70 km/h in the afternoon inland, 70 to 90 km/h in the coastal departments, locally 100 km/h on the shores of the Channel, or even 100/110 km/h towards Boulonnais”specifies the meteorological agency.

On the Weather Channel side, we note gusts of “100 km/h on the hills of Artois”as well as clouds “abundant over a large northwest quarter”. On the afternoon of January 1, 2025, “the cold front is asserting itself in the North-West with active rains and a very gloomy atmosphere”specifies the channel. Snowfall is also expected this Thursday from the Ardennes to Lorraine.
