A new satellite image has captured the stunning white peaks of the Atlas Highlands, which have been heavily covered in snow.
The high-resolution image, taken on December 23, shows the striking contrast between the snow-covered peaks of the Atlas Highlands and the nearby desert areas.
Most regions of the Kingdom are witnessing a significant drop in temperatures these days, while the peaks and highlands of the Atlas and Al Haouz are covered with snow.
The cold weather is expected to continue with scattered rain in some areas, in addition to the formation of frost and ice on the highlands and high plateaus.
For Tuesday, the General Directorate of Meteorology expects snow to fall over the peaks of the High Atlas Heights, in addition to moderate to somewhat strong wind gusts accompanied by dust in the southern regions.
Minimum temperatures will range between minus 07 and 00 degrees in the Atlas and its eastern slopes, the countryside and the eastern region, and between 06 and 11 degrees near the coasts and in the northern and central plains, and between 12 and 14 degrees south of the southern regions, while it will range between 03 and 08 degrees in the rest.
