ZDF New Year’s Eve show: After the end, sad news is making the rounds

The New Year was celebrated properly at the ZDF New Year’s Eve show! Andrea Kiewel and Johannes B. Kerner guided viewers through the program on New Year’s Eve. Shortly after the broadcast, a message is making the rounds that will probably please neither the moderator duo nor those responsible for the station.

It was a guest list that was quite impressive. From hits to rap, there was something for every target group at the ZDF New Year’s Eve show. Appearances included rap queen Shirin David, ex-DSDS candidate Sarah Engels, soul and pop musician Ayliva, pop singer Maite Kelly and the electronic dance music duo Fast Boy.

And the receipt is also available one day after the broadcast in the form of the audience rating – which was not outstanding, as the industry portal “DWDL” reports.

ZDF New Year’s Eve show: Kiwi loses to Flori

While Florian Silbereisen got a whopping 4.65 million viewers to tune in with his “New Year’s Eve hit boom” (we reported), things looked different with the ZDF New Year’s Eve show. An average of 2.6 million people took part – around half a million fewer than last year!

We have summarized more topics and news for you here:

While the market share of the overall audience was 13.7 percent, significantly lower than during the New Year’s Eve hit boom on ARD, younger people tended to prefer ZDF. In the 14 to 49 age group, the market share was 22 percent. But that is likely to be little consolation for those responsible for the station.
