Chanouka celebration on Dam Square • Vos’s comeback in cyclo-cross

Good morning! Today is the national Chanukah celebration on Dam Square in Amsterdam. And Marianne Vos is making her return to cyclo-cross after almost two years.

• The national celebration of Hanukkah is being held on Dam Square in Amsterdam for the eighteenth time. The eight-day Jewish festival is also called “the festival of lights”. BBB leader Van der Plas and the director of the Jewish Cultural Quarter, among others, will give a speech.

A passenger plane crashed upon landing at the airport of the South Korean city of Muan. At least 120 people have died. This is reported by the South Korean fire brigade.

Two crew members were rescued from the burning plane and taken to hospital with injuries. It is feared that the rest of the occupants did not survive the crash.

A KLM aircraft that flew from Oslo to Amsterdam on Saturday evening made an emergency landing at Torp airport in southern Norway due to a malfunction.
