In implementation of the royal directives on the need to care and pay attention to vulnerable groups suffering from homelessness, and with instructions and supervision from the governor of Al Hoceima province, the local authorities in the province, in coordination with the administrative police of the communities, the national security, the auxiliary forces, and the regional center for social care, which is managed by the Manara Association for Social Works in Imzouren, are carrying out a broad campaign aimed at bringing people together. The homeless, homeless people, the mentally ill, and passers-by from alleys, streets, public squares, and from all points where they are.
This campaign seeks to protect them and save them from the dangers of death as a result of severe cold waves and low temperatures during the fall and winter seasons, by sheltering them in the Regional Center for Social Welfare in Imzouren. The initiative aims to preserve their dignity and provide them with the necessary support, including medical treatments, medications, and the provision of all basic needs.
The campaign included the gathering of seventy-eight people, including five women, in several regions, including Beni Bouayach, Imzouren, Ait Youssef, Ali, Al Hoceima, Sidi Boutmim, and Asakan.
According to reliable sources, the regional committee, in coordination with the local committee and the center’s administration, held a meeting on December 19 to study and determine the needs and capacity of the center.
The total capacity of the Regional Center for Social Welfare in Imzouren is one hundred and forty-four beneficiaries, distributed as follows:
The men’s ward has a capacity of one hundred and four beneficiaries, and currently includes eighty-one people. The women’s ward has a capacity of forty inmates, and currently includes twenty beneficiaries.
The management of this facility is supervised by a number of executives and employees who do a tremendous job in order to provide the best services to inmates, both male and female.
