CAGLIARI (ITALPRESS) – Clear success for Inter, who beat Cagliari 3-0 and return at least momentarily to the top of the table, cohabiting with Atalanta awaiting the match between the Dea and Lazio, as well as the Naples. Bastoni, Lautaro and Calhanoglu were the three Inter scorers, against a Cagliari team that almost never managed to pose a threat over the ninety minutes. Inter started strong, with Lautaro and Thuram duetting for the Frenchman’s dribble and shot from the edge, but Scuffet was careful to dive in. Cagliari initially placed well on the pitch, but Inter continued to play their game and came close to taking the lead again on the half hour mark: Calhanoglu’s well-turned ball headed to Lautaro, who however sent it high with the goal unguarded . Physicality and many duels in the middle of the pitch, an intense first half but with few other jolts from both teams. At the start of the second half, however, it was the Nerazzurri who broke the deadlock in the 54th minute when Barella’s deep cross found the head of Bastoni, who did well to direct the winning parable to the far post which beat Scuffet and put Inter ahead. Cagliari must therefore try to react, after conceding the 1-0 and another chance falling at the feet of an imprecise Lautaro. Nicola therefore brings in Pavoletti and Marin to increase the revs of the rossoblù offensive engine. In the 71st minute, however, Inter doubled their lead, again on Barella’s precise serve to find the diving deflection of Lautaro, who after the previous errors managed to break the goal drought that had lasted since early November. Inter’s lead became a triple seven minutes later, with Wieteska touching De Vrij’s aerial deflection with his hand, causing the penalty which Calhanoglu converted, displacing Scuffet.
