With temperatures dropping in most Moroccan cities, a group of civil society activists and relevant authorities launched massive campaigns to shelter the homeless, who make their homes in the streets and alleys.
Civil society activities quickly distributed winter clothes and hot meals to people in homeless situations in a number of Moroccan cities, led by Casablanca, Fez and Beni Mellal, to help them confront the severe cold wave.
According to the “Sit Info” source, these campaigns are launched every year during the cold period, in order to help abandoned children who are living in a state of homelessness, so that they are collected and housed in one of the charitable organizations in the cities.
The same source reported that night tours are being carried out to provide relief and assistance to the needy, especially the homeless, by distributing meals and food aid, treating some injured homeless people, and providing shelter for some special cases of non-Moroccans who are stranded in Morocco.
