Dominique Pelicot is found guilty of all counts. Namely, aggravated rape of Gisèle Pelicot, attempted rape and aggravated rape of the wife of a co-accused, but also the capture of images of a sexual nature concerning her daughter Caroline and her ex-daughters-in-law. The president first presents the answer on the guilt of each accused, one by one, before secondly pronouncing the sentence of each of the fifty-one accused.

After three and a half months of hearing and three days of deliberation, the five magistrates of the criminal court announced, this Thursday, December 19, the fate that they decided to reserve for these men aged 27 to 74, who came to sexually assault Gisèle Pelicot, previously sedated by her then husband, Dominique, at their home in Mazan ().

This morning, Gisèle Pelicot arrived at the courthouse to applause and a swarm of cameras and journalists. She was surrounded by her two lawyers Mes Camus and Babonneau.

The defendants who appear free have also arrived in the courtroom. Respecting the instructions given by the president of the court, they took a bag of belongings with them in the event of a committal warrant.

The decision rendered in an Avignon courthouse placed under heavy police protection is closely scrutinized, in and abroad, as this trial has caused a shock wave since its opening on September 2.
