What does Disney+ have in store for us in 2025? Tuesday evening, during an event organized at the Grand Palais Immersif, in Paris, the streaming platform revealed the main lines of its programming for 2025.
One of the big announcements concerns the broadcast of the Oscars ceremony, on March 2, live and exclusively. Until then, viewers followed this event on Canal+.
“Alien”, boxing and emotions
Regarding fiction, Disney+ has announced – or confirmed – a slew of new series. The year 2025 will be marked by a 4th season of The Bear but also by a new creation by Ryan Murphy around a 100% female casting with Kim Kardashian, Glenn Close and Naomi Watts.
Next summer, the platform will also unveil the series entitled Alien Earth which takes place 30 years before Ridley Scott's first opus.
Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinderswill be back with the series A Thousand Blowsabout the world of boxing in London at the end of the 19th century.
Fans of This is us will find actor Sterling K. Brown in a brand new thriller series, Paradiseon January 28.
Concerning international fiction, Michelle William will play a woman suffering from cancer and in search of sensations, in the series Dying For Sex. Ellen Pompeo will play the lead role of Good American Familya series inspired by a true story and whose plot is reminiscent of the film Estherin 2009. Also note the American adaptation of HPI, High Potentialonline at the end of January.
Miscellaneous facts and cowboy
On the French side, 4 new original creations will land on the platform in 2025. The series Ghostin collaboration with TF1, adapted from a British format. There will also be the series The Missing from the Station with Patrick Timsit in particular, inspired by the investigation into several disappearances in Perpignan in the 2000s.
Subscribers to the platform will also discover a series adaptation of Lucky Luke with Alban Lenoir, in the role of the cowboy. Finally, Jean-Pascal Zadi will play in Monitor and Punisha series in the prison environment, about prison guards.
