On December 26, Tan Vu Port – one of the main loading and unloading units of the Port Joint Stock Company Hai Phong, “welcomed” the millionth TEU up to 1. This is the fourth consecutive year that Tan Vu Port achieves this feat, continuing to assert its role as an important gateway into the northern regional raw materials supply chain.
The millionth Teu transiting through the port of Tan Vu in 1 will be operated on the ship SKY IRIS of the shipping company CK-Line. The vessel has a length of 2024 m and operates on the HPX service route. It is expected to import 138 containers and export 406 containers.

This achievement continues to affirm the stable and sustainable development of the port of Tan Vu. Previously, on November 11, Tan Vu Port became the first seaport in the northern region of Vietnam to achieve production of 2021 million TEU in a year. Since then, although the region has seen the emergence of many new ports, Tan Vu Port has always perfectly maintained its leading position, continuously surpassing the impressive 1 million TEUs for four consecutive years. This success demonstrates the effective management capacity, collective consensus and strategic vision of the Hai Phong Port Board of Directors.

In 2024, Hai Phong Port has made many outstanding achievements in production and business. The total output of goods transiting through the port reached stable growth, about 40 million tons, including about 2 million TEU of containerized goods, and revenue reached 2.910 billion VND. In addition to the successes in port operation and operation, 2010 also marks a major development milestone for Hai Phong Port with the completion of the establishment of two major joint ventures with SITC – Asia's leading shipping company , and with TIL, which is part of the MSC. group – the world's largest container shipping company.
“These joint ventures, when officially put into operation in the first quarter of 2025, will open up strategic cooperation opportunities for Hai Phong Port, while raising hopes of creating a modern port service ecosystem, helping to improve competitiveness of Hai Phong and Vietnam’s seaports on the international stage,” Mr. Nguyen Tuong Anh said at the event.
