YouTube star Darren “IShowSpeed” reached a significant personal milestone on December 3, 2024, when MrBeast personally added him to a group chat with Cristiano Ronaldo. The streamer is famously obsessed with the Portuguese footballer and has been trying to connect with him for years.
In his latest livestream, IShowSpeed confronted MrBeast about not including him in a recent YouTube collaboration with Cristiano Ronaldo. After some back-and-forth, MrBeast agreed to add the content creator to a group chat if he promised to behave. He said:
“I can put you in a group chat with him if you want. I mean, you have to promise not to say anything too weird. You’re not going to just start barking? You use Whatsapp?”
Following the 19-year-old’s assurance that he wouldn’t leak the number or say anything inappropriate, MrBeast introduced him to Ronaldo in the chat, referring to him as the biggest streamer in the world. He said:
“Ronaldo, this is Speed, the biggest streamer in the world, he wanted to say hi.”

As mentioned before, IShowSpeed is a massive fan of Cristiano Ronaldo. During the same broadcast, he showcased his new CR7-themed room setup, which cost over $100K. The setup includes one of Ronaldo’s Portugal jerseys and a giant CR7 logo on the wall.
The content creator has been trying to collaborate with Ronaldo for some time and was thrilled when MrBeast mentioned a possible collaboration with him during their video on the Ur Cristiano channel.
With MrBeast now adding him to a group chat with Ronaldo, it is possible that he might end up getting to do a video or stream with the football star sooner rather than later.
The streamer also showed his chat a message he apparently sent to Ronaldo, which reads:
“Hey Ronaldo, it’s Speed we met about last year I just wanted to say hi, and hopefully we can meet again soon, cheers”
IShowSpeed has traveled the world, IRL streaming from Brazil to Japan, but has only met Cristiano Ronaldo once, despite attending Manchester United and Al-Nassr matches. The two briefly met in June 2023, and the YouTuber became quite emotional during the encounter with his idol.
