Tuesday December 3, TF1 broadcast the grand final of Koh-Lanta, The Cursed Tribe. There were 24 at the start and at the end, only one remained. The latter is none other than Thibault, crowned winner of this edition on the TF1 set. During the poles event, Ilyesse was eliminated and Charlotte, who lasted the longest, chose to take Thibault with her to face the final jury. The adventurers eliminated after reunification then voted and nominated the Corsican farmer, who won the title but also the check for 100,000 euros. A victory that is not to everyone's taste. Indeed, some viewers believe that Thibault is not the most deserving. They thus argue that he did not perform well in the events – he won an individual comfort game as well as the orienteering race -, was not strategic and was not put in danger during advice. Faced with the controversy, Charlotte speaks out and shares her feelings with Purepeople.

After your post victory, you say that the pressure is going down again. How do you explain it?

For me, at that moment, everything was decided, done, fixed. We knew that Thibault was going to win, I knew that the events were over… My adventure was sealed, I could no longer do anything about it. There, all I had to do was enjoy until the moment they served me food!

How did you know Thibault was going to win?

He is a person very popular with all the candidates, without exception, from both tribes. So it seemed completely normal to me that everyone was going to vote for him. I knew the press that Thibault had among others, thanks to his generosity, his values, his career. I myself voted for him a little in my own way, by designating him for the final. It was a bit like shooting myself in the foot. We can say that it was a bad strategy, I rather say that it is the purpose of Koh Lanta that I wanted to live. I didn't come to win the 100,000 euros, I came to compete in events and experience an adventure. So I felt like I had already won everything. At that moment, in my head, I wanted to give victory to the one who was most deserving.

Many expected women to vote for you and this was not the case for all… What do you think?

I'm happy because right now they blame each other (laughs). More seriously, I think it's normal because they all lived together at the final jury. Obviously, there were a lot of people who we had ousted with Sophia and who had their perception of the game, of the way it went. So they got a lot of feedback, not necessarily good on me. The only feedback they had on Thibault was that he fed everyone, that he was a pro at survival. So I knew it was a foregone conclusion. I thought I had two votes, Cécile and Sophia. And I even said to myself that if they voted for Thibault, I wouldn't even blame them. Seeing that I had four votes made me happy, I had a positive attitude until the end. Then, looking back, I tell myself that I was a little stupid. But at the time, I had given everything, my adventure was over and I didn't want to think anymore.

Thibault's victory is not understood by some viewers, who believe that he did not win enough events, was not strategic and did not experience the danger of eliminations compared to you. What do you think?

I think this is all true. It's been several months since filming finished, we've had time to speak with a lot of candidates and several think that too. Looking back, I think so too. I got a lot of criticism when I lost the bag test, I was told that I was useless against Thibault even though he had as many bags as me. I came to say to myself: “He's a boy, he weighs 5 kilos, it's normal that he wins!“Then I thought about it and in terms of tests, he didn't perform more than that… But in Koh Lantacan we say that only the tests count? Because someone who is good at the events but who doesn't move around in the camp and sleeps all the time, does he deserve to win? Koh Lanta ? There are several questions to ask. Because in terms of events, Ilyesse deserves to win 1000 times more than Thibault, it is irrevocable. But at the moment, merit is truly subjective and as Denis Brogniart says, everyone does so in their own right.
