“That with Marine Le Pen…”: Michel Barnier very annoyed by this live remark from Anne-Sophie Lapix

Michel Barnier is in a delicate situation. Since September 5, the 73-year-old man has occupied the post of Prime Minister. However, he is the target of motions of censure from the left and the RN. On Tuesday December 3, he agreed to answer questions from Anne-Sophie Lapix and Gilles Bouleau live on TF1 and 2.

Upon his arrival on the set, the head of government indicated that he was “possible” that the motion of censure failed. “It depends on the MPs. Everyone has a share of responsibility before the French, the voters of the constituency and France. It is possible that there is this reflex of responsibility beyond differences, in the name of the higher interest” he notably asserted.

Michel Barnier appears uncomfortable in front of Anne-Sophie Lapix

During his interview, Michel Barnier spoke of his commitment so that there is no medication reimbursement in 2025. A subject which immediately made Anne-Sophie Lapix react, who underlined: “You specified that it was to Marine Le Pen that you were offering this concession. Others had asked for it, but you specified in the press release that it was for her”.

Faced with this remark, Michel Barnier appeared uncomfortable.  “Yes because she was the last one to tell me about it” he then tried to defend himself. Indeed, on Monday December 2, the Prime Minister specifically cited the name of Marine Le Pen and the National Rally, without mentioning
the other parties.

The Prime Minister tries to calm the situation

Obviously not satisfied with the Prime Minister's response, Anne-Sophie Lapix insisted. “It gave the impression that you only negotiate with Marine Le Pen, which the socialists also denounce” she said. Information immediately rejected by the main interested party.

Michel Barnier then tried to calm the situationindicating that the National Rally was not the only one to be involved in this subject. He explained: “This demand, this idea of not defunding, was also in the proposals of the left”. A mea-culpa which did not convince the journalist, who then pointed out once again its proximity to the RN.
