Stéphane Lenormand, president of the Libertés, Indépendants, Outre-mer et Territoires group and MP for Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, is personally against the social security financing bill for 2025 but will not vote for a motion of censure.

This Monday, December 2, Prime Minister Michel Barnier drew 49.3 of the Constitution allowing him to forcefully pass the social security financing bill for 2025. The announcement was made today in the hemicycle of the National Assembly.

The deputy for Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, Stéphane Lenormand specifies that he “will not table a motion of censure against the social security financing bill resulting from the joint committee“.

A bill which provides, among other things, for the reduction of exemptions from social security contributions, the increase in pensions in January and July 2025 and even an improvement in mental health care.

For Stéphane Lenormand: “the country in the state it is in socially, economically and politically cannot afford institutional instability and a financial crisis on top of that without there being a credible political alternative behind it.“.

The Liberties, Independents, Overseas and Territories (LIOT) group is working on a national emergency government to prevent the arrival of extremists in power (RN and LFI).

Stéphane Lenormand for his part specifies that “the LIOT group will position itself this Tuesday on the motion of censure“.

The MP for Saint-Pierre and Miquelon is the guest of the 8 p.m. television news on SPM la Première.
