Fog and frost over the northern half of the country will clear quickly this morning as outbreaks of rain in the southwest extend northeastwards over the country. The rain will be accompanied by fresh to strong and gusty southeast winds. The rain will turn generally light and patchy in the evening but some heavier falls are possible near the west coast. Highest afternoon temperatures will range from 7 to 14 degrees, coolest in Ulster and mildest in Munster.

Blustery tonight with plenty of dry weather early in the night and just a few patches of rain or drizzle. However, later in the night, more persistent rain will push in from the Atlantic to affect west Munster and west Connacht. A mild night with lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in fresh and gusty southerly winds.

Breezy on Friday with outbreaks of rain spreading northwards over the country with some heavy falls possible, especially in the south. Clear spells and scattered showers will follow from the southwest during the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in fresh and gusty southerly winds.

There will be some clear spells around at first on Friday night but it will become mostly cloudy later with areas of mist and drizzle spreading from the south later in the night. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees in moderate to fresh southerly winds.

Cloudy on Saturday with areas of mist and drizzle around during the morning. More persistent rain will develop in the south and west on Saturday afternoon, before extending to many parts of the country during the evening. A mild day with highest temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees in fresh and gusty southerly winds. Further outbreaks of rain on Saturday night, turning heavy in places with the chance of spot flooding, especially in the south. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in moderate southwest winds.

Outbreaks of heavy rain across the eastern half of the country early on Sunday with a clearance to sunny spells and showers developing in the west. Rain will clear into the Irish Sea before midday to leave a day of sunshine and scattered showers nationwide. Maximum afternoon temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in moderate southwest to west winds. Clear spells and scattered showers on Sunday night. Feeling cooler with lowest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees.

A fresh and breezy day is expected on Monday with sunny spells and passing showers. Feeling rather chilly due to a brisk northerly breeze with highest temperatures ranging from 6 to 9 degrees.
