Immediately after the popular singer Saad Al-Saghir heard the text of the ruling from the judge, tension appeared on his face, and he looked at the ground, then said: “It’s all with God,” while the dancer Berlanti cried after the ruling was pronounced, and the singer’s son went near the cage to talk to his father and console him after the ruling. He was imprisoned for 3 years.
At the beginning of the session, the judge listed the medical report received from the Forensic Medicine Department, which confirmed that the popular singer had suffered a rupture in the cruciate ligament, which required him to take the drug Tramadol. He then asked Saad Al-Saghir’s defense, lawyer Tariq Jamil Saeed, about his client’s acquittal of the charge of using narcotic substances after the report arrived.
The session was held under the chairmanship of Counselor Naji Hassan Mahmoud, with the membership of Majdi Muhammad al-Bayoumi, Walaa Wajdi Taher, and the secretariat of Muhammad Abd al-Majid Ghalban and Bahaa Tantawi.
The Public Prosecution had ordered that the accused, Saad Al-Saghir, be referred to the competent criminal court. To punish him for what he was accused of committing the felony of possessing the narcotic substances “hashish and tramadol” with the intention of using them in cases other than those authorized by law.
Earlier, the Public Prosecution began its investigations by questioning three employees at Cairo International Airport, who testified that the x-ray machine had revealed, during the examination of the accused’s bags, the presence of electronic cigarettes containing a narcotic liquid inside them, and as a result, the accused was arrested.
