Telecom poles and trees on the road
Yesterday afternoon, many motorists reported the presence of telecom poles fallen on the road. Like on the RD 105 in Montfaucon-en-Velay, at midday, or on the RD 6 in Saint-Didier-en-Velay. During the night from Sunday to Monday, the wind once again caused damage around the Altiligrian roads. At 8 p.m., the first motorist reported a tree across the RD 18 in Queyrières. A few hours later, at the end of the night, shortly before 5 a.m., a second call alerted of the presence of another tree lying on the RD 19 in Cistrières, completely cutting off traffic. Twenty minutes later, the gendarmerie emergency call center received a new call following the presence of yet another tree on the RD 590 between Siaugues-Sainte-Marie and Langeac… Damage caused by gusts regularly exceeding 100 km/h… The roof of a house in Saint-Just-près-Brioude paid the price this Monday morning. Literally torn off by the wind, the roof ended up on the road running alongside the house.

The orange alert should be lifted at 3 p.m. in the department. “Haute-Loire is located in a zone of strong winds without disturbances. It will not be affected by the Cévennes episode expected elsewhere. At the end of the afternoon, rain should replace the gusts,” concludes the meteorologist.
