Weekend: Chilly weather, with sun and some rain

The upcoming weekendfrom a weather perspective, will bring a winter climate to much of Italy, with cold temperatures and a mostly stable atmosphere.

After the bad weather that affected the country in recent days, a temporary rise in high pressure will ensure clear skies and plenty of sunshine starting from Saturday, November 23.

However, cold air of Arctic origin will continue to flow into Italy, leading to a marked drop in temperature.

The cold temperatures will be further felt due to the strong northern winds, which will blow intensely especially in the Center-South and the Major Islands, making the cold even more biting.

On Sunday, November 24the atmospheric circulation will begin to change: the winds will shift from the southern quadrantsinterrupting the arrival of Arctic air and bringing a gradual rise in temperature during the daytime hours, especially along the Tyrrhenian areas.

This new configuration will lead to an increase in cloud cover in the North and Tuscanywhile the rest of the Center-South and the Islands will continue to enjoy predominantly stable weather with clear or slightly cloudy skies.

Despite the dry weather that will characterize much of the country, localized light showers cannot be ruled out in Liguria.

Here, the humidity carried by the mild southern winds will tend to condense as it moves north, favoring the formation of clouds and some isolated precipitation.

In general, from a weather perspective, the weekend will be characterized by cold but stable weatherwith temperatures slightly rising on Sunday, especially in the Center-South.
