The new prefect of Indre-et-Loire, Thomas Campeaux, officially arrived in Touraine this Monday, November 25, 2024. As tradition dictates, he laid a wreath at the war memorial, Place Anatole-France in Tours.
The ceremony organized in the morning was marked by the presence of numerous elected officials from the department including the mayor of Tours, Emmanuel Denis, deputies and senators.
Thomas Campeaux arrives from Aisne where he was prefect since June 28, 2021. Trained at Ena and graduated from the Institute of Political Studies in Paris, he has been a senior civil servant since 2002 and started as an auditor of the Council of State.
He succeeds Patrice Latron
He succeeds Patrice Latron. The latter said goodbye to Touraine during an evening with the elected officials of the department. He almost immediately flew to Reunion, where he took up his duties as regional prefect on November 18.
Another movement at the head of state services in Indre-et-Loire: the prefect's chief of staff, Anaïs Aït Mansour, will fly to New Caledonia, after two years spent in Touraine.
