“The thermometer has dropped to – 2°C”: a Czech tourist searches for her dog at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport, the animal escaped from the hold of an Air France plane

This Tuesday, November 19, Míša, a Czech tourist, lost her dog at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport in . According to her, the animal could have gotten out of its cage which was in the hold of an Air plane, due to “the strong turbulence during landing”.

She has been searching tirelessly for her animal for several days now. This Tuesday, November 19, Míša, a Czech tourist, had the unpleasant news of learning that her two-year-old dog, Amalka, had disappeared at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris.

With Le Parisien, the 29-year-old tourist spoke about her distress and how Amalka could have fled. According to her, these are certainly the “strong turbulence during landing” who opened the cage where the dog was, before she decided to flee when the hold of the Air France plane opened.

Since then, the animal has been seen several times by airport staff and its owner. However, being obviously too afraid, it was impossible to catch her. “I came face to face with her, but she ran away very quickly. She doesn't answer my calls, indicated Míša to our colleagues. I have ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and Amalka was trained to be my emotional support dog. In situations like this, she's usually there for me.”

Freezing temperatures

Despite the sometimes negative temperatures, Míša tries everything to get her back, in particular by leaving food where Amalka was seen. “The thermometer went down to -2°C, it snowed a lot… Amalka had never seen snow,” she emphasizes.

The latter also accused Air France of not having provided the necessary means early enough for its animal. Contacted by Le Parisien, the company assured that “all efforts are being made by Air France, Paris Aéroport and the air transport police to find the animal. Regular hunts are organized in the presence of the customer (including at night) and displays have been installed in several areas to raise awareness among airport staff of this situation.”
