“Through a very good collaboration with the Special Telecommunications Service and the National Institute of Statistics, we will have the opportunity this year to see the results of the elections in real time in two stages: partial provisional results when the results from a section of voting, after counting the votes, drawing up the minutes and uploading them to the AEP website, we will be able to see in real time what was the result of the vote at the respective section, at the sections that up to a certain point are uploaded to the system, so that in real time until 21:00 we will have provisional partial results”, declared the other day the president of AEP, Toni Greblă.

According to him, after 9:00 p.m., as the minutes and materials necessary for voting are sent to the county electoral offices, verified and uploaded to the system, “instantly” the result is displayed on the website of the Central Electoral Bureau and the Permanent Electoral Authority and “will be able to be seen in real time” for each of the 14 competitors entered in the race for the appointment of the president of Romania.

STS stated the other day that a new functionality was developed for the prezenta.roaep.ro website, together with the presidential elections of November 24, 2024, “in accordance with the operational requirements of the Permanent Electoral Authority and provided for in BEC Decision no. 151D of 14.11.2024”.

The Special Telecommunications Service provides IT & C support for the smooth running of electoral processes and has trained the personnel designated by AEP to use the IT applications and systems. Also, the teams of STS specialists are prepared to intervene to remedy technical situations and respond adequately to cyber security events, as well as to provide assistance to the staff in the polling stations, prior to and during the elections, as stressed STS.

For the presidential and parliamentary elections, STS trained over 46,000 people who will be part of the polling stations, and from a technical point of view it configured, installed and made available IT systems, network and telecommunications equipment, tablets and telephones.
